Class Procedures

How to Succeed in Mrs. Deiter’s Classroom

1. When you come into the room you should be seated. (Talking is fine.)

2. Check to see that you have paper and pencil. Sharpen or borrow as needed. There are pencils in a box on the file cabinet next to my desk that you may use. Remember to leave the pencil at the end of class.

3. The first time you hear the timer buzz, you should stop talking and open your math notebook to the tab marked “objectives”. (We will talk about this in detail in class.)

4. One member of your team will get the group folder (I’ll explain this in class). You will have the daily warm-up.

5. The timer will buzz again at the end of the warm-up. One member of your team will collect the papers and return them to the folders while everyone gets out the homework assignment from the previous day. If there was no homework, please listen for directions.

6. You may sharpen your pencil as needed. Please be considerate of your classmates as you move in the room.

7. Tissues are kept on every table in the room. You may get one when you need it and return to your seat.

8. Trash must be kept at your desk until the end of class.

9. You may drink water from a bottle or cup with a lid any time.

10. All class interruptions should be made by raising your hand. Questions and solutions are always welcome.
